The CentRE

Projects & Activities

RE Congress & Exhibit

TThe Renewable Energy (RE) Congress and Exhibit is the CentRE’s flagship project that started in 2018, envisioned as the CentRE’s contribution to the growth of microrenewables industry in the Philippines, especially rooftop solar. It aims to provide a venue for discussions on developments on technologies, policies, and programs, and facilitate networking and collaboration among stakeholders towards accelerating the expansion of RE use and deployment in the country.

RE Academy

The Renewable Energy (RE) Academy is the CENTRE’s platform as a training hub. It aims to contribute in building knowledge, and providing practical courses in a more accessible, affordable, and useful way to many including those without college education, thereby opening new livelihood opportunities and creating an avenue for those involved in a meaningful way.

Documenting transformative RE practices

REimagine is a documentation of inspiring RE projects in the Philippines. It features transformative and innovative renewable energy (RE) initiatives especially in energy poor areas. The publication aims to (1) inspire more stakeholders including the local government, households, people's organizations and social enterprises to integrate renewable energy in development plans; and (2) contribute in efforts to accelerate RE deployment in the Philippines by sharing testimonies that RE is doable -- that RE can be realized even by marginalized communities.

Building RE models

RE projects that are CRISP – catalytic, replicable, innovative, scalable, and participatory – will be piloted in marginalized communities particularly in Sorsogon and Romblon, in collaboration with the LGUs, electric cooperatives, people’s organizations and the private sector. The RE projects being explored and developed are solar, wind, microhydro or hybrid energy system that harnesses the indigenous and RE sources in the communities.

Policy advocacy

This involves discussions among stakeholders and dialogues with local and national agencies to address critical issues in the RE industry, as well as advancing recommendations towards RE's full development, people’s participation, and achieving optimum benefits to consumers and the communities.

Awareness raising

Awareness raising will be conducted through public fora, information materials and tri-media/social media.
